Rotation times and outfit names follow the community reward schedule linked below. This is not a guaranteed last chance to obtain an item; continued availability after rotation is unconfirmed.
How to hunt for the gold outfit
This is a Battle Royale chest reward, not a quest completion reward. Use a Fortnite account and a supported platform to join Battle Royale. Check the in-game Treasure information for current eligibility; rewards in other modes have not been confirmed here.
- Check the featured reward and current Treasure information in the Fortnite lobby.
- Join Battle Royale and open treasure chests as you explore the island. There is no guaranteed chest or fixed number of attempts.
- Watch for the gold reward notification and read the item name: a pickaxe or back bling is not the outfit.
- After the round ends, return to the lobby and check your Locker for any cosmetic you actually found.
The chest and lobby-grant walkthrough is described by Destructoid. Toon Tone has reviewed sources, but has not tested the reward in game. The paid Item Shop outfit is a separate offer.

Questions before you play
Is the gold outfit free?
The reviewed guides describe a cosmetic that can drop from chests without buying the outfit. The paid shop versions are separate; check the current in-game information before playing.
Will completing the checklist unlock it?
No. Finding the outfit is random. Ticking every box, opening more chests or winning a match does not guarantee a reward.
Can I still get an older gold outfit?
Continued drops or a later return after its featured week are unconfirmed. A past rotation is a historical record, not a promise that the item remains available.

Manually reviewed on Nov 8, 2026. Epic confirms the season and Captain’s Day; the linked community tracker supplies outfit names and rotation windows. Guides disagree on the first rotation date, so the displayed countdown follows the tracker schedule rather than claiming an official item expiry. Unknown future outfits remain unannounced.
